My 8-month puppy keeps vomiting and has very itchy paws. Why?

The pink paws and the vomiting are probably unrelated. The vomiting is probably from an upset stomach. If it continues, or if Bear stops eating for more than 24 hours, I would be concerned enough to take him to the vet to be checked out. The pink paws are probably due to an allergy, likely something in the air, like pollens. If Bear is itching and licking his paws excessively you may want to take him to your vet to be checked out and placed on an allergy medication.

Regarding the ear he is probably suffering from an ear infection, your vet can prescribe an antibiotic ear drops for him. the vomiting is likely unrelated, It sounds as Mojo is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking him to the vet the first chance you get, he will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection he will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better.

Poor Caeser! Skin allergies can be so frustrating. If you haven't already, I would consider a prescription hypoallergenic diet like hill's science diet Z/D or their limited ingredient diet or purina's HA diet. A food trial consists of 12 weeks of ONLY these food and the approved treats. If you don't want to go to the expense of these foods, you can try an OTC limited ingredient diet. My favorite is natural balance venison and sweet potato. Chicken and beef are the most common causes of food allergies. As far as the environmental allergies, I would talk to your vet about a long term medication like apoquel. This has been a game changer for a lot of my allergies patients. Finally, considering his loose stool, this could be due to the food or something else entirely. I would have your vet take a look at his stool for parasites, campylobacter and giardia. These can all cause GI problems and can be easily treated. You may also talk to your vet about whether or not Pepcid would be a good option for Caeser. If the vomiting most commonly occurs first thing in the morning before he eats, he could have a small case of acid reflux. This is usually easily fixed by giving Pepcid right before bed time. I would talk to your vet about the appropriate dose for him and whether this could be what is going on. I hope this helps!

Hello, sorry to hear about Jack. It sounds like he is having allergies. Allergies in dogs can be associated with the environment, food, or even fleas (flea allergy dermatitis). Make sure that Jack and any other pets are getting their monthly flea control. If he continues to itch, then he may need allergy medications which can be prescribed by your veterinarian. Because of the vomiting, I recommend getting your pet checked by your vet as soon as possible. Continued vomiting is very concerning and can lead to dehydration and electrolyte imbalance as well as low blood sugar. He might have eaten something that either disagreed with him or something that has gotten stuck somewhere in his gastrointestinal tract. He could be sore from a hidden injury you are unaware of, he could have been exposed to some sort of toxin or irritant in his environment or this could be early signs of another condition or disease process. Your pet may need IV fluids to help support his/her system and to be fasted at the same time in order to give the gut a rest. Your vet can do an exam, blood work and possibly x-rays to determine the cause of the illness and suggest an effective treatment plan.

Most pitbulls have atopic dermatitis (environmental allergies). One of the main symptoms of allergies in dogs is licking/chewing at the paws and scratching everywhere. Often allergic dogs also have chronic allergies and recurring anal gland issues too. I recommend making an appointment with your vet about possible allergies. There is an allergy medication called Apoquel that doesn’t have the same effects as steroids on increasing thirst and peeing, but usually works on significantly alleviating the itch within a few hours. There is also an injectable allergy medication called Cytopoint that is given every 4 weeks and can be given in conjunction with Apoquel that has had amazing results in most atopic dermatitis dogs. While on these allergy meds, Vega should be on an oral flea and tick medication such as Bravecto, Simparica or NexGard as even a single flea bite can cause a similar allergic reaction. The trembling and vomiting may be due to a food allergy, acid reflux or possibly a liver/kidney issues. Yearly screening bloodwork is recommended to rule out more serious internal organ causes of the vomiting.
