My puppy's leg hurts, but he's not limping. What could be wrong?

Poor Louie! Limping means he is in pain, so he's been in pain for a week now. Unfortunately there are no OTC pain medications you can give him, as many human ones are toxic to dogs and can be fatal if given. I'd have him seen by a vet for this today to get this limping diagnosed and treated. I hope this helps!

It could be a sprain, but given that he is a young puppy, I would recommend having him checked out by a vet. You want to make sure it is just a sprain, instead of something more serious like a fracture of torn ligament which could affect his growth. I would rest him for now, no running, jumping, or playing. Take him out to toilet on a lead only, and bring him right back in when done. Take him into the vet on Monday for an exam to be safe.

Poor puppy. At this stage Reese needs images taken of his entire leg to pinpoint the problem area and get a good game plan together on how to help improve his mobility. He may have a ligament tear in his knee or even a congenital defect of the bone that wouldn't otherwise be known about if not for radiograph imaging. Also if you don't notice any obvious swelling, then a fracture is likely not the cause. Rest her, no running, jumping playing and leash walk only for the next couple of weeks. You can also do cold compresses on the limb 1-2 times a day. if there is no improvement within 3-4 days, then it's best to get her seen by your veterinarian for a full exam and pet friendly pain medication. She may also need x-rays of the leg to determine the underlying injury (cause). Do not give her people pain meds however because these can be quite toxic to pets and cause major liver and/or kidney damage. It's better to get all pain and anti-inflammatory meds from your vet. Poor Lily! There are many different possibilities in this case. It may be that she has simply bruised herself or damaged a muscle or ligament. However she may have a more serious injury such as a fracture or ligament rupture. If she seems to be comfortable and nothing looks out of place you could let her rest 24 hours then if she is no better or getting worse head to the vet.

It can be something such as a strained or sore muscle from rough playing; or could be a sign of a torn ligament/tendon or broken bone. Sometimes infections can also make dogs limp. If you feel that Pablo is in pain I would recommend having him evaluated by a veterinarian so that they can examine his leg and prescribe pain medications. Depending on their findings they may also suggest taking x rays of his leg. It is best to get your pet evaluated by a vet who can do a lameness exam to localize where the problem is on the leg.
