Is it safe to give my puppy an egg daily, or is it too much?

Cow's milk isn't digestible to dogs at this age, so I would definitely not give that or you will almost certainly get loose stools. A boiled egg is high in calories also, so its best to limit this to 3-4 times a week at most or you have the potential to make Charlie a bit overweight. He is a rather cute puppy though. No, you should not do that as it would alter the nutritional composition of your dog's food. You should feed a good quality complete puppy food for large dogs. This would be proper food that provides your dog with everything he needs. You can give a boiled egg once in a while as a treat but not as a regular supplement with his feed.

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Goodness Paddy is super cute! I would cut out the egg. We want growing puppies to eat the puppy food and get the nutrients they need. Dogs are smart and will pick out the parts they want. If you want to add egg to the diet do it less often (1-2 times per week). I think 3 times a day feeding is as much as you should do and I would only do it until 12-14 weeks of age then do twice s day feeding. From your pictures he looks to be a healthy weight. You can add water or a little bit of canned puppy food to the dry to encourage him to eat it. He also may not need as much as you are offering. The bag is good place to find out how much to feed but if the puppy is to think give more or too fat give less. I wish you all the best!

You can give a BOILED egg as a treat once in a while. However, if you feed a complete puppy food for large sized dogs, you do not need to feed any eggs. Do not feed raw eggs as this will cause health problems (they contain avidine which causes biotin deficiency which in turn causes problems with your dog's nails and fur.

Bread isn't really a great choice to feed a dog, it is quite stodgey and fattening and the gluten can upset dog's stomachs. Moreover an occasional egg is okay but they are quite fatty so shouldn't be fed all the time. With this diet your dog is likely not getting the correct balance of nutrients. I would highly recommend feeding the best complete dog food you can afford, twice a day. If you really want you can add healthy foods to the diet to supplement it.

The only food that a dog needs is a high quality dog food, which will provide him all the nutrients he needs to be healthy. Adding additional food on top of that will lead to extra calories and weight gain. Weight gain leads to obesity, which in turn leads to its own health problems such as heart disease, diabetes, and joint problems. It would be fine to give him a boiled egg (no shell) once or twice a week as a treat.
