Why is my puppy collapsing, confused, and bleeding from her vulva?

I am so sorry that your pet is having weird episodes of what sounds like a possible seizure and now bloody urine. I am not sure if your vet tested her urine to confirm that she also has a UTI, but I assume that is the case since antibiotics were given. I would be concerned about any underlying imbalances that can lead to seizures such as a liver shunt, so bloodwork analysis would be the next best step for Winter. If she does have an underlying condition like a liver shunt, then this should be treated for in order to manage both her condition and also her seizures. Some pets have idiopathic (no underlying cause) for seizures, but due to her young age, I am highly suspicious of a congenital cause. I hope that you are able to get to the bottom of things soon! The blood coukd be from a UTI or even bladder stones. It should not be related to the tablet she ate but since I don’t know all its ingredients it is difficult for me to say for sure. I suggest you get her back to the vet for a follow-up and a urine test.

I'm so sorry to hear that. Bloody urine can have a number of different causes. It can be due to a problem in the urinary tract-- such as a severe urinary tract infection, bladder stones, or a bladder tumor. Those things may also cause her to urinate frequently in small amounts and/or strain to urinate (but not necessarily). It could also be a problem higher up in her urinary tract--in her ureters (tube from kidney to bladder) or in her kidneys-- again an infection, stone or tumor. The other potential cause of seeing blood in the urine is if she isn't able to form a blood clot properly. If her blood platelets or clotting factors are low or are not working correctly, bleeding can occur within the bladder (or anywhere in the body--bruising under the skin, bleeding around the gums, blood in the stool, bloody nose, blood in the eyes). We can also sometimes see the urine look bloody when its actually a different thing causing the pigment (color). For instance, if she's destroying her red blood cells and the pigment (color) from the red blood cells which is the hemoglobin is ending up in her urine. Also myoglobin (which occurs with massive muscle damage) can result in dark reddish brown urine. Some types of toxic ingestions can also result in reddish brown urine. The seizure on Sunday makes me more concerned that something very serious is going on with her. If she's unable to clot her blood properly she could have a bleed in her brain. Or the seizures may be completely unrelated to the urine. I wish I could offer you a suggestion to treat her at home, but it sounds like you need to have her seen by a veterinarian as soon as you can.

Has she been in heat recently? At her age with not being spayed I would worry about thisbdisxharge being from the uterus and her having an uterine infection. This can be an emergency that typically requires surgery. Often times they are weak, drinking more water, vomiting and not eating. Other options include a bladder infection which will need antibiotics. Your vet can distguish between the two and see what is needed

If she is groaning and has bloody discharge form the vulva she needs to see a vet. If she is pregnant she may be having a miscarriage or a problem birthing. If she is not pregnant she may have a uterine infection, a bladder infection or bladder stones. These are not things you can treat at home. She is obviously uncomfortable so I highly recommend you get her to a vet.

Bleeding from the vulva is normal in intact female dogs during their heat cycle. But if Riley isn't currently in heat, or if the amount of blood you're seeing is more than normal for her, then I would be concerned that something else may be going on. Bleeding from this area can be caused by bladder stones, infections, a bleeding disorder of some kind, or even a vaginal tumor. It would be best to have Riley examined by a vet as soon as possible to determine what is causing the bleeding and get her started on appropriate treatment.

It sounds like Misha may have had a seizure, as that would cause her to be out of it for some time, urinate herself, and take time to return to normal. She may have hit her head when she fell off the sofa, and that could have caused the seizure. Please keep in mind that without seeing her in person, I cannot say for certain if she had a seizure, but it sounds like it could be from your description. Because of her young age, the fact she fell off the sofa, and the possibility she could have had a seizure from head trauma, she should see a vet immediately to be safe. Please take her into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies.
