Puppy bleeding from penis, passed a stone. What pain meds can I give?

Hello and welcome to Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. I am sorry that Cointhee has stones. Urinary stones are concerning because at any point one of the stones can cause a complete blockage of the urethra (tube you pee out of), and can block any flow of urine and this can lead to life-threatening kidney disease and death because the potassium cannot be peed out. Therefore, firstly, it is very important to make sure that Cointhee is able to pee out urine at all times, and isn't trying to pee with nothing coming out. If this is occurring please get him to a vet right away. Blood in the urine can be caused by the stones/crystals causing irritation, and can also be caused by infection that sometimes goes along with the stones. Repeated trauma to the urethra can cause strictures, and long term complications. I would discuss with your vet about taking some x-rays to see how many stones are present, and discuss if surgery is an option to remove the stones. I would also discuss about checking to see if an infection is present. Usual treatment for bladder stones includes antiboitics if infection is present, special food to try to dissolve the small crystals and tiny stones, and surgery to remove the big stones. Oh no, poor Kyro! It's certainly not normal that he is bleeding form his penis, and he could have a severe UTI, bladder stones, or may have eaten something toxic causing it. Given his young age and the fact that I can't see him in person to say he will be ok or not, the best thing to do is take him into a vet now. Hello. This could be a result of a serious bladder infection, prostatitis, urinary bladder stones, a bleeding polyp/mass or trauma. This definitely warrants a trip to your veterinarian ASAP. Blood from the penis can be a result of a urinarh tract infection, prostate issue, bladder stones, or trauma. I recommend having Nemo examined by a veterinarian and having a urine sample checked to see if an infection is present. He may need X-rays to rule out a bladder stone. It would be best to have him examined as soon as possible as these issues can progress quickly. He may need a prescription medication like an antibiotic to treat the underlying issue. Unfortunately the medications that he need to make him comfortable plus are safe need to be obtained from a veterinarian. Anything you may give at home may interfere with what your Vet may want to prescribe and might not be safe for animals. If you feel he is in extreme pain then I would call your Vet and see if they can prescribe something or see him sooner. Good luck!

The bleeding from the penis is not likely to be related to heartworm or heartworm treatment, it's either due to a urinary infection or due to a prostate disease (cancer or infection). i strongly advise that you take Walter to the vet ASAP in order to get it checked.

If there is no improvement and Fitz is still having these symptoms, I would recommend having the veterinarian take xrays of the bladder to see if there are any abnormalities such as a bladder stone. If the pain is not under control, I would recommend a different pain medication such as Methadone, which works quite well at relieving pain. If he is not improving and is worse, I would get him seen by a veterinarian so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. I hope this helps!
