This constipation could be due to impacted anal sacs, not enough exercise, GI tumors, a foreign body, intestinal worms, not enough fiber in the diet, or a neurological disorder among other causes. I would try taking her for a short walk to see if that helps her poop, and mixing in a tablespoon of canned pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling) in with her food to see if that helps her poop. Because this has been going on for a few days, should these methods not work, I would take her into the vet tomorrow. She may need a laxative or an enema to help her pass feces, and the vet can diagnose what is causing the constipation in order to treat her appropriately.

Have Max examined by your veterinarian to diagnose medical causes. Sometimes this can be a neurological issue or a congenital condition. You can try mixing one teaspoon of plain canned pumpkin (NOT pie filling) per 10lbs body weight into the food once or twice daily. Continue to make sure he is drinking adequate amounts of water. Dehydration, even minor, can cause difficult defecation.

I am sorry to hear about Lucky! If he is otherwise acting normally (no vomiting, normal appetite, energy normal, no pain) you can try adding a teaspoon of canned pumpkin to his food twice a day, or giving him some cat hairball remedy (such as laxatone). If this doesn't resolve the isssue within 24 hours or he develops any of the symptoms I mentioned before, he will need to see his veterinarian. If that does not help, I recommend that you have him evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They can at that point check on that and recommend therapy accordingly. I would start her on gruel which will help form bigger stools. Often as puppies age they do not defecate as often so she may not go after every meal.
