What's this painless bumpy skin on my dog's nose? Should I worry?

I don't like the look of this. With it so round and well demarcated I would guess it's from a spider or insect bite. You can clean this with a warm cloth and a mild shampoo or soap. Rinse it well and when it's dry apply a thin film of antibacterial ointment on it. I would have this examined in the next few days as it could be a fungal infection from rooting in the ground also. If there is any question as to the cause your veterinarian can do a skin scraping of it and get a diagnosis after looking at the cells under the microscope. That area looks very irritated and i'd be concerned there is a burn, severe irritation, or even a growth/tumor causing the hair loss and wounding of the skin. Since so much is exposed, it's a good idea to have it examined by your vet right away. Until you can get to the vet, keeping the area clean and dry and placing an Elizabethan (cone) collar on Sophie can help reduce irritation, however it should be seen in person.

If the spot has changed in size over time it wouldn't hurt to have your vet take another look at it, especially if the change was very rapid over the past few days or weeks. Your vet may recommend taking a sample of the spot for testing to help determine what it may be so it can be treated as needed. Growths like this can be caused by any number of things including rubbing the spot often on surfaces, cysts, blisters, allergies, etc, so having it examined if it is changing is best.

It looks like you are concerned about several problems with Roxie, and they are probably not all related to each other. The nose could just be dry, or it could be an autoimmune disease called lupus, or it could be cancerous. I would recommend that you have your vet check this out to see what will be the best treatment. If it gets worse it could crack and bleed and be very painful. I am not sure what is coming from her whisker area, it could be a skin tag. There are several masses that can occur on the edges of the eyelid. Often they are benign, but they can get bigger and start to rub on the cornea and cause ulceration and chronic irritation. Many times a vet can remove these easily with either surgery or cryotherapy. Dry or thickened skin on the elbows is common in short-haired dogs as they age. There is nothing that needs to be done. Make sure that Roxie has a soft place to lay down, which will help prevent excess pressure over her bony areas.

A lesion like that could be several things including an ingrown hair, allergies, skin mites, bacterial infection or a skin tumor/mass. There are a couple things you can do at home and they can help but they may not address the underlying cause. You can try adding in an omega 3 fatty acid supplement for dogs, this can help improve the skin health. You may also try changing her diet to something like Royal Canin or Nutro as they are aimed at skin health. You can wash the lesion once a day (not her whole body, just the lesion). Also protect the area from trauma by having your pup wear an elizabethan collar at all times. If the lesion does not start improving within a week or if it is getting worse, have her examined by the veterinarian. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.

Based on the pictures I am concerned that Daisy may have a skin infection. This could be bacterial or fungal, and each are treated differently. Other problems such as immune disorders can cause similar signs as well. I would recommend that she be evaluated by your veterinarian.
