are there any major risks when putting an over weight dog under anesthesia. My yorkie silkie is 18lb she was schedule to get spay today but the vet on duty couldn’t do it bc she was a little chuncky he said, tomorrow she has to go back in and another vet will do the spaying for her and dental cleaning. now i’m more nervous than before. what are the risk of doing all this i’m having major doubts now. should I be worry or be ok? her blood work came out good everything was fine in the result.

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach!
As much as any surgery and anesthesia can be routine, a spay is a very common procedure. Complications are rare and we take every precaution to have successful outcomes. You vet wants everything to go well too! Spaying her is the best thing for her health!
I wish Aubree the very best tomorrow!
