Can a new puppy give my older dogs parvo if they seem tired?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 2 years and 6 months old | 40 lbs

Can a new puppy bring Parvo into my house and infect my older dogs? I have two other dogs and seem to be lethargic since I brought her home.

If your other dogs are not fully vaccinated then yes they could be at risk. If the puppy is not showing signs of parvo, then he likely doesn't have it to give to the older dogs. Your other dogs could be just lethargic from the stress of having a new puppy in the house. If they are having vomiting, diarrhea, not eating or not drinking or if they don't start to perk up, I would have your vet take a look at them. I would also make sure to have every one up to date on their vaccines. I hope this helps!
