What homemade dog food and supplements are safe for pancreatitis?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Male | neutered | 1 year and 10 months old | 14.5 lbs

Hello, I need help on finding the best homemade dog food recipe/ full supplement for a dog with a history of acute pancreatitis. For the past month my dog has been on a home cooked diet consisting of (lean ground beef, rice, nonfat cottage cheese, pumpkin squash, broccoli) he hasn’t had any recurring issues. I found a multivitamin called (GNC pets multivitamin plus). Is this a good product should I add salmon oil for extra omega 3 and should I add anything to his food such as chicken liver?

I would get recipes from the two sites that I link below. They are run by veterinary nutritionists, and then you won't need to give any extra things to Charlie such as vitamins. Studies have shown multivitamins really don't work anyway.
