Are German Shepherds banned in the US? What are breed-specific laws?

Thanks for visiting Petcoach. This breed often can have white or tannish colors throughout the coat. There are also some German Shephards who are purely white. The American Kennel Club doesn't recognize white as a color for this breed, however, and won't let white German Shepherds compete in conformation shows, although they're allowed in other competitions." Hi there! Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! They are great dogs in general. Having said that, they do require training which really comes down to being consistent with them as to what is ok behavior and what is not. I have a lot of experience with this breed and I have found both males and females to be relatively similar in terms of behavior. I think the most important thing is letting them know what is acceptable and what is not as they can be strong-willed. Great dogs though. Have a good evening!

However, keep in mind that they are high energy dogs so it will be crucial to ensure regular exercise and daily walks. For example, it would be good to at least give him 1 hour of playing/exercise time daily which may include long walks for instance. Generally, when picking up a new pup I just recommend to go with the puppy that appears to be the happiest to see you. Also, it is important to make sure the puppy seems happy and healthy which is why it is recommended to have them evaluated by a veterinarian after picking them up. Good luck! Hello. Mikki definitely looks like she has German Shephard in her, but she is pretty young & pictures are not always the best way to tell if she is a purebred. she is very cute though! Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
