I'm sorry Paws had a blockage, but I'm glad he's home. It's normal that he won't want to eat tonight and he might be a little more lethargic than normal. If he becomes very lethargic, doesn't eat at all tomorrow, stops drinks, and/or starts vomiting food or water, then I would have him seen by a vet.

He should be rechecked by your vet or at the local veterinary ER today. He may be painful or still feeling the aftereffects of general anesthesia. This can last as long as 72 hours. If his bladder is full, the doctors can insert a urinary catheter if necessary to empty it. Medications can be administered or dispensed to alleviate pain which may make him comfortable. Supportive care can also be administered. SQ fluids may rehydrate him and perk him up.

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Goodness! I think that if he is using the leg like he was BEFORE running off then he is probably fine. He may be more sore tomorrow so we may need to wait. I would be sure you are giving the anti-inflammatories as prescribed by the surgeon. I would also touch base with them tomorrow before the weekend. Be sure on future walks that his collar is tight and he can't slip out again. Good luck!
