My dog won't jump on the couch. Could his sore, bloody tail be why?

Dog suddenly started not wanting to jump up on couch I notice a bit of old blood on his tail a little sore applied neosporin

I'd keep an eye on the sore for now. If it gets worse or appears infected, have him seen by a vet.

Poor Boo! It sounds like he is painful and may have injured himself. I recommend resting him for the next 48 hours. No running, jumping, or playing. Take him out to toilet on a lead only, and bring him right back in when he's done. If he still appears painful after this time, then I would take him into the vet for an exam. The vet can diagnose where the pain is coming from, and can dictate a treatment plan for it. He may also benefit from some pain medications, which the vet can prescribe. Please do not give him any human pain medications, as many are toxic to cats and are fatal if given. Best of luck, I hope this helps!

Poor Boozer! Because he is walking as normal, I would give him 48-72 hours of rest to see if he comes right. No running, jumping, or playing, and I would avoid picking him up because it's painful. Take him out to toilet on a lead only, and bring him right back in when he's done. Have him rest as much as possible. If he is still painful after this time period, then I would take him into the vet. I would take him into the vet sooner, however, if he begins limping. Please do not give him any human pain medications, many are toxic to dogs and can be fatal if given. If you are concerned he is in a lot of pain, you can take him into the vet in the morning, and the vet can prescribe a safe pain medication for him to take.
