Dog won't drink after flying. How to get my dehydrated dog to drink?

Hello. I would not be too concerned. Just continue to add water, or low sodium broth to his food. You can also offer him broth or stock ( either beef or chicken ) as a source of liquids. I would offer ice cubes, the garden hose or a little low sodium chicken broth in his water. If he doesn't eat tonight then start a bland diet of boiled chicken or hamburger with rice. Feed 1 cup per 20 lbs for a few days. You can try adding some water to his dry food to tempt him as well. Then watch for the development of vomit or diarrhea. I wish Pilot the best!

While it is normal to see a period of no pooping after having diarrhea, it is not normal for a dog to not drink water. I am also concerned about Roo getting dehydrated, and I do think it's worth having him seen by a vet. If he is very dehydrated, he will need IV fluids. He should also be examined to diagnose why he's not drinking water. I would take him into a vet now. I hope this helps!

Poor Max! While the shock of travel could definitely be making him feel unwell, if he isn't recovering after a few hours, or is absolutely refusing to eat/drink and is completely lethargic, I would bring him to a vet ASAP. It is possible he may be ill or may have been injured/become ill during his travels, so a veterinary exam is best to figure out the cause.
