Could my dog's weight loss be linked to her skin bumps or cysts?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Female | spayed | 80 lbs

My 7 year old pit bull has been losing weight about every week or so and she also has small bumps (maybe cysts) occurring on her skin, would those two issues have any correlation?

I am sorry mocha has not been feeling well. I would think small cyst would not correlate to weight loss unless the cyst were an actual fungal infection or cancerous masses. I would recommend taking her to a veterinarian for a good exam. The veterinarian should be able to aspirate the masses and determine if they are concerning. Also some basic bloodwork might help determine why mocha is losing weight. Hope that helps!
