My Frenchie is vomiting and can't stand. How can I afford vet care?

Poor Pierre! The signs you are describing are unlikely to be related to his previously broken leg. It is definitely concerning that he cannot stand, this can be due to ingestion of a toxin (such as human food he should not have or human medications), or a serious intestinal condition such as foreign body obstruction. I recommend having Pierre seen by a vet right away, as he may need stabilization and supportive care. I hope all is well!

Poor guy. Bruce is very ill and in need of medical care. His symptoms are suggestive of a viral infection (Parvovirus if he was not fully vaccinated), bacterial infection or undelrying organ malfunction (pancreas, kidneys, etc). He needs a proper exam and bloodwork analysis to a start and try to narrow down the possibilities and get a proper diagnosis. He also need supportive care treatment such as anti-nausea medicaiton, fluids, and anything else that will treat his specific condition. I am so sorry to hear about Boo! I would recommend a trip to the vet given your description of vomiting numerous times in a short time frame combined with lethargy. Unfortunately with vomiting we are limited in our "at home" treatments and when they are vomiting so frequently it is really best to have them seen before they become too dehydrated. Your vet may recommend testing such as an x-ray to check for things like foreign objects and bloodwork to check for things like pancreatitis. They can give injectable medication to help stop the vomiting and fluids via an IV to help rehydrate Boo.

Poor Avah. I'm sorry you both are going through this. I would recommend getting to an animal emergency clinic right away this morning (now, before work). This could be a simple food bloat, or her stomach could have become twisted, which is a severe, life threatening situation. Frenchies are not prone to having the stomach rotation, but since she's dry heaving, uncomfortable (has evidenced by her inability to sleep), and having labored breathing, I think it's worthwhile to have her looked at immediately. At the emergency clinic, she can have x-rays to check the position of her stomach, be given a strong and safe medication to cause vomiting (if appropriate, this may not be necessary), medications to treat nausea, and, importantly, IV fluids to help get her gut working better and the food moving forward. I'd guess they will want to keep her for the morning or day for monitoring to make sure everything settles down. I hope this helps and that little Avah is feeling better very soon. I recommend to have your pup examined by the veterinarian today. Continued vomiting is concerning for something like an intestinal blockage although many potential causes are possible. It’s best to play it safe and not wait this one out. Best of luck.

It sounds as Pumkin is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking her to the vet Urgently, she will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection she will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better. if the vet thinks it is more serious she will need a blood test and possibly an ultrasound in order to find out what is wrong. The vomiting you described sounds normal. Vomit only contains what is in the stomach at the time, so as the vomiting continues there will be less and less available, hence the color changes. First, I would look around the house and yard to see if there is anything that you can find that Cooper may have gotten into or eaten. Look carefully at plants, small things, destroyed things, or missing contents of a trash can. If you don't find anything, then I would remove all food for 12 hours, but encourage him to drink water or pedialyte. If the vomiting continues in a few hours, I would recommend that Cooper be evaluated by an emergency vet to see what could be going on. At the very least, he could get an anti-nausea shot that will help him get some rest tonight. If the vomiting starts again after he eats, if he has a poor appetite, or if he starts having diarrhea, the Cooper should get checked out by a vet tomorrow.
