My Frenchie is vomiting and can't stand. How can I afford vet care?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | French Bulldog | Female | unspayed | 1 year and 1 month old

My Frenchie threw up about 6 times this morning and as of an hour ago she can’t stand up with her back legs... she just ate and drank a little bit. I just lost my job and really worried.

Poor Dva and poor you! It is concerning that she threw up six times and now she can't stand up with her back legs. The vomiting could be caused by eating something rotten, a GI illness, a foreign body, or pancreatitis. I see that she isn't spayed, and the vomiting could be caused by a pyometra, which is a life threatening infection of the uterus. Being unable to stand could be due to an injury or she could be very ill and unable to stand due to weakness. She really does have to see a vet now. If paying for a vet is an issue, you can see if your vet accepts payment plans, if there is a low cost clinic in your area, or you can apply for Care Credit online. There is also an organization called Red Rover that give grants for treatment of sick animals, and you can see if you qualify for one of their grants. Best Friends also has a list of resources that offer financial assistance on their website.
