My dog is throwing up water and won't eat after spay. Is this normal?

It is not uncommon for pets to feel nauseous after surgery. If she is vomiting water, I would not give her food or water overnight. If she continues vomiting she should be seen by a veterinarian to figure out if there is something else going on that could be unrelated to the surgery. As long as she doesn't vomit overnight, you can start offering a small amount of water. If she holds that down, you can then give her a small amount of her regular food.

It can be normal to vomit once or twice in the 24 hours following anesthesia but I wouldn't expect Sadie to be experiencing side effects from anesthesia at this point. I would recommend having your veterinarian examine her if the vomiting and decreased appetite continue: it may or may not be related to her recent surgery. I am not sure the type of dewormer or the vaccines that you used but vomiting often, lethargy, and not eating are not typical 2-4 days after vaccination and deworming. It is very concerning that she is having these signs and she could have an infection or possibly have a parasite that was not susceptible to the dewormer that you used. She really should be seen by a vet to determine the cause and treat. She may need an anti-vomiting injection, antibiotic, antacid, gastrointestinal protectant, dewormer, and/or other medications to treat. It sounds as Desiel is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking him to the vet the first chance you get, he will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection he will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better.
