Hello again! If you are already giving a joint supplement and fish oil, do not give Chloe this additional supplement. Too much fish oil isn't good for her. I'd give the joint tablet and fish oil only. Cosequin is important for her to have for her joint health, and Nordic naturals fish oil is a good brand.

Arthritis is definitely a possibility. You could start him on a joint supplement, like Dasuquin and see if that helps. Your vet could also take an x-ray to evaluate for arthritis and then start him on a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory, like Deramaxx, Previcox, Rimadyl, etc. NSAIDs help relieve the discomfort associated with arthritis.

It's fine to start your 1.5 year old dog on the joint supplement, but it's not recommended to start puppies on joint supplements until he is at least a year old. That's because a puppy will be producing it's own glucosamine for his joints, and will not needed the added support. I would speak to your vet about giving your older dog the GI balance supplement to see if he needs it, but again I would not give it to the puppy until he is at least a year old. I have never used standard musculoskeletal support but if the Dasuquin and fish oil seem to be working of than I don't see a reason you need to add another medication. If she is still having issues than you could try the musculoskeletal support. I usually put the arthritic dogs that I treat on a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medication, like Deramaxx or Previcox, and it helps tremendously. Most vets don't prescribe medications without a good reason so I doubt he is just trying to make money. However, if you have any concerns, it is always good to get a second opinion.

Vetriscience I believe have a treat formula for omega 3 fatty acids. I really like dasuquin but flexadin is also good. I have not used the naturvet joint supplement but you could try it. The both have a soft chew formula. Naturvet has an omega 3 FA supplement called omega gold. This would also be a good FA option. I hope this helps!
