Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Yorkshire Terrier | Male | neutered | 4 years and 9 months old

Hi I am concerned that my dog has touched a dead baby pigeon. Please could you advise to any potential risks nd what I should do. I am unsure that he did touch it as he didn't seem very interested in it.

It's very common for dogs to pick up dead animals, roll on them, and even eat them sometimes - this normally doesn't cause any serious issues. In Charlie's case, since he barely touched it (if at all), I would not expect any problems at all - he should be just fine :)
