My 1-year-old Yorkie has a tail bump and is eating less. What's wrong?

I always recommend anytime a new mass shows up or an old one changes that you get it looked at by a Vet. It could be a lipoma (benign fatty mass), normal anatomy, a cyst or a cancerous growth. Any growth needs to be checked and analysed as there are many conditions and types of tumors that could look like that. take Matilda to the vet, they will perform a fine needle aspiration on the growth and send it to the lab for analysis. when the result comes, the vet will advise what needs to be done according to the diagnosis.

Hi Dhyanna! At such a young age, it's not likely Muffin has a malignant tumor; even if it was one, you would have seen symptoms of malignancy by now. It could be a benign tumor that is slowly growing. The only way to know for sure is to have Muffin seen by a vet for this. The vet can diagnose what is causing this lump and how best to treat it. I would take her into the vet in the next couple of days.

I am sorry to hear that you are worried about Lilly. Fatty growths and tumors are both possible, but less likely with such a young dog. I would also worry about an abscess for a cyst.
