My dog has a swollen bite. Is it a spider bite or something serious?

Pet's info: Dog | Miniature Schnauzer | Male | 12 years and 3 months old | 19 lbs

I’m not sure if my dog was bitten by a spider or if it is something else.

If it is a bug bite, the swelling should go down after a few hours. If it does not, I would be more worried about a skin tumor or an infection. Keep Scruffy from licking the area by having him wear an elizabethan collar at all times. Have him examined by the veterinarian if the swelling persists.

    This is probably an allergic reaction due to an insect bite or a plant outside. those reactions tend to resolve within 48 hours without treatment. if the swelling becomes too large or if your dog is lethargic, take him to the vet in order to get an antihistamine injection.
