My dog keeps spitting up clear or yellow liquid. Is it serious?

Poor pup. It is possible he just has an upset stomach from something he got into. Try feeding him a bland diet of boiled plain chicken or lean ground turkey and white rice for the next few meals to see if this can settle his stomach. However, if he continues to vomit, acts lethargic, or has a decreased appetite, then there could be something more serious going on internally that will require a vet visit to sort out. II am so sorry to hear that you are having a hard time getting Luna to stop eating pebbles and other things she shouldn't. . Puppies absolutely do like to get into things they shouldn't, as frustrating as this can be. To keep Luna safe from the possible harmful effects of eating things she shouldn't, try to keep her in an area devoid of these items while you are out. There currently are several toys on the market which will interact with Luna and release treats, that can be used while you are out. Luna could also possibly benefit from more exercise, as well as puppy socialisation classes. I hope this was a helpful answer and more importantly that Luna feels better soon. Be sure that you know if she is vomiting (belly goes in and out) versus regurgitation (burps up fluid) versus a cough with a terminal retch (cough is first followed by a gag of fluid). I don't know how old Honey is but she only weighs 5 lbs and that means if she is truly vomiting then she could get dehydrated quickly. If the vomiting is non-stop she should be taken to your Vet if open or an emergency hospital. If it has been a couple of times remove all water and food. Do not offer water for 4-6 hours of no vomiting and offer small amounts and ice chips. Do not offer food until 12-24 hours of no vomiting and offer it as a bland diet of boiled chicken or hamburger with rice. Feed 1 cup per 20 lbs per day as small frequent meals. If she continues to vomit while fasted or once she starts eating she needs to see a Vet. Causes of vomiting are: intestinal parasites, foreign body (something is stuck and needs surgery to remove), dietary indiscretion, viral or bacterial infections, metabolic conditions, toxin ingestion, food allergy or intolerance. It sounds as Lilly is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking her to the vet the first chance you get, she will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection she will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better. if the vet thinks it is more serious she will need a blood test and possibly an ultrasound in order to find out what is wrong.

It could be a sign of allergic reaction. If your Luna is very itchy and now vomiting or trying to be sick, you should get her seen by your local vets. She may need an antihistamine or anti-inflammatory medication to get back to normal quickly.

Vomiting is sometimes seen with conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease, dietary indiscretion, pancreatitis and chronic kidney disease, among many other conditions. Given Mugsy's young age and the fact that he is otherwise doing fine and this is sporadic, dietary indiscretion appears more likely. It may be something as easy as just changing his diet to something that he can tolerate better. However, an examination by a veterinarian as well as minimal diagnostic data would be needed to rule out more concerning things. You can start by changing his diet to a sensitive stomach type diet. If no improvement, have him examined by a veterinarian to start therapy if needed based on findings. Good luck!

Poor girl. Vomiting can be caused by so many things in dogs, but licking of the rear is usually caused by either full anal glands or intestinal worms. I would recommend taking Foxy to your vet to have her checked for underlying causes of vomiting (ie dietary indiscretion, kidney disease, pancreatitis, inflammatory bowel syndrome, etc), and then have her anal glands checked to see if they need to be expressed. Some dogs have a hard time getting expressing their own anal glands when they go potty, especially after a bout of loose stool, so we have to manually express them for them. This will relieve the pressure and discomfort. And the vomiting can be treated initially with an anti-vomit shot from your vet while you figure out the underlying cause and make sure to treat that as well. I hope that Foxy feels better soon! In the meantime it’s best to fast her for at least 12 hrs and offer a bland diet of boiled plain chicken and rice or cottage cheese for a few days to help settle her stomach.
