Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! These could be benign or malignant growths. There is no way of knowing for sure without an examination though this represents a reason to seek veterinary care. This is usually determined with an examination and a fine needle aspirate (FNA) or a biopsy. Treatment depends on the findings up to that point. I recommend you have your pup evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Good luck and have a good day!

In a young puppy like Mia, malignant tumors are extremely rare, and I don't think they would necessary be anything to worry about at this point it time. From your description, the lumps do sound very small, and you did the right thing by having them seen by a vet. It could be that these lumps are benign tumors or cysts, and I would keep an eye on them for now. It's good that there are measurements on them, and if they appear to get bigger, I would have Mia seen by the vet again to have a fine needle aspirate done on them. If they don't grow and/or don't cause her any problems, I would not be concerned about them. I hope this helps put your mind at ease :-)

Hello and thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. I suspect this is a granuloma or a skin mass. A visit at your local vets is recommended to make the definite diagnosis and to start treatment for your dog. Your vet may have to take a needle aspirate from the lump to find out what kind of growth it is. Alternatively, treatment with steroids and antiseptic solution could be trialed first. If the growth responds to the treatment, it would strongly point towards the diagnosis of granuloma.

Skin growths can be due to a variety of reasons, including allergies, infection, allergies, warts, or true tumors. What type of growth it is typically can be evaluated by a needle sample by your veterinarian, and then a treatment plan can be made, if needed. Good luck!
