Usually, this means that your dog is anxious or frightened of something - many dogs shake or tremble during thunderstorms or when neighbors are using fireworks outside. It could also mean that Bella is in pain for some reason - she may have injured herself somehow, or she could have a problem like a slipped disc in her back causing her to be painful. If the shaking and hiding does not resolve over the next few hours, or if she has any other symptoms such as vomiting, not eating, or lethargy, I would recommend having her examined by your veterinarian to diagnose and treat the underlying cause.

Hello. Shaking and trembling can be stress or fear related, or could be caused by pain. I would try to distract her with things she likes (treats or a walk) and if the shaking and trembling continues I would suggest having her seen by a vet. Good luck with Bella.

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Shaking can be a sign of anxiety or pain in dogs. If Angel is otherwise normal, then I would monitor for now. If anyone is shooting fireworks nearby or there are storms it could be a fear response. If she is vomiting, not eating, painful anywhere or acting sick otherwise, I recommend a vet visit to find out what is making her ill.

My dog is shaking, hiding, and feels hot. Should I call the vet?

Poor Grace! If you can't find an obvious cause for anxiety, it's best to have her checked out for pain as pain can make pets behavior this way as well. Pain can be in many forms including back pain, pain from the pancreas or bladder pain. Since she can't talk and tell you why she is acting this way, it's best to play it safe. Try to keep her quiet and keep the house quiet and non-stimulating and pay close attention to her eating/drinking/bathroom habits until you get her in for her exam. Dog shaking and hiding, but calms when I'm near. What's wrong?

It sounds like he is having some anxiety. If there is anything that has recently changed or any loud noises like a storm or construction, this could explain why he is so anxious. I would just try to give him a little extra TLC to see if this helps. If this continues, I would have your vet take a look at him to ensure he isn't in pain somewhere. I have seen dogs do this with back/neck pain as well. If your vet thinks it is anxiety, they can prescribe him an anti-anxiety medicine to help. I hope this helps.

This is very painful and can cause shaking, panting and a reluctance to jump. Her veterinarian can detect this on her exam or another problem if that may be the case. In the meantime, keep her quiet. Whining is an attention seeking behavior and can be a sign of anxiety, pain or potentially boredom. The shaking can also be a sign of pain or anxiety. If you think he might be in pain you should see a veterinarian to see if they can localize the pain to a specific area. If you think he may be anxious it could help to try to identify what might be triggering the anxiety - some dogs have storm or noise phobias, or he might be anxious about a change in routine or environment.

Why is my Chihuahua shaking and acting anxious or in pain suddenly?

Shaking and/or trembling can be a sign of anxiety or pain. I would recommend evaluating the environment Sissy is in and see if there is anything new or unusual that could be causing her stress/anxiety. If everything is normal then I would be concerned that Sissy is painful/uncomfortable for some reason. If this behavior continues for more than a day or so or Sissy stops wanting to eat or drink, then you should probably have her checked out by your veterinarian. I hope this helps.
