My dog in severe pain, won't eat, hard stomach. Should I go to ER?

It sounds like Luka could be painful. Neck pain, back pain or stomach pain could make Luka reluctant to move around the house. While kitty litter or toilet paper could cause stomach pain if there was an obstruction it is not very likely unless Luka has also been vomiting. I would recommend seeing your veterinarian who can examine Luka and look for a source of pain.

As she is unspayed i strongly suspect a uterine infection, it can often be missed on blood test and xray. i strongly recommend taking her urgently to the vet for a recheck, an ultrasound needs to be done and bloods needs to be repeated, if this is what i suspect, she will need an emergency surgery to have her uterus removed.

It definitely sounds like Luna is very painful!! Different dogs can have varying types of pain tolerance and it may be that Luna does not tolerate pain as well. However I would hate to miss something more serious on a presumption that she is just not as tolerant of pain. Cost is definitely something to consider as ER visits can rack up a higher cost than your veterinarian may. Unfortunately, that may be the best for Luna if she just isn't feeling and acting quite right. I would add that if she is otherwise eating and drinking normally, and not having any vomiting or diarrhea or any of the other signs mentioned on the previous thread then I would be less worried about rushing her to the ER and may give her a little more time. If her bloodwork was fine a couple of days ago then perhaps the metacam could help control her pain a little better and reduce the inflammation a UTI can cause. However, know that kidney values can change in short periods of time, thus I would still recommend having a veterinarian that has looked at Luna make the recommendation for or against metacam or NSAIDs. Also consider, that there are other causes for pain in a Beagle that may not be associated with her UTI. In a Beagle I would want to check for back pain, neck pain, or abdominal pain (pancreatitis, kidney disease, foreign bodies, or even liver disease). All of these may benefit from pain medication and even NSAIDs, but some of these could require more aggressive medical or surgical management.

This sounds very concerning and you should take her to a Pet ER tonight. She could have a severe infection or could have swallowed a toy and now has an intestinal obstruction. This is an emergency. The vet will need to take radiographs and if it is an obstruction Daisy will likely need surgery. Please take her to the PetER now.

Severe abdominal pain in a six year old Shih Tzu warrants veterinary attention some time soon. With this type of pain, I imagine Marble is probably not wanting to move around much, eat, or drink either. I would recommend that she is taken in for x-rays and probably some blood work at minimum to see if there is any underlying condition causing this type of discomfort. It is a little hard to tell from the picture, but it sort of looks like the abdomen is a little bit distended and puffed out. Since this has been going on for a few days already, I don't think I would necessarily call this an emergency. I would however recommend getting in sometime tomorrow.

It sounds very suspicious of a uterine infection, she might need an urgent surgery, if she is in severe pain and very lethargic you should probably not wait until tomorrow. If she is stable just keep her still and don't touch the belly area, that is all that you can do.

Hello, no it's not a good idea at all to wait, you should take her to the vet today, if she is suffering from a uterine infection or from some other gastrointestinal condition, it's likely to be urgent and can be life threatening.
