My dog has seizures after heartworm/flea meds. Should I stop them?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Cavalier King Charles Spaniel | Male | neutered | 4 years and 6 months old | 26 lbs

We feel our dog is having seizures due to the heartworm and flea medicine we give him - our vet doesn't believe there is any connection. We are afraid to give him more of these products but also afraid of what could happen if we don't. Any advice? (Male Cavalier King Charles)

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Rusty. Have you sought a second opinion with a neurologist? That would be my first recommendation. You can also contact the manufacturer of the heartworm prevention to report your concerns. I hope this information helps!
