My dog has seizures and elevated liver enzymes. What can be done?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

My dog has been having seizures. He had a scan and blood tests and we were told they found gunk?? In his liver. his bloods revealed his liver function test results were elevated. Should be 30 but were 700. I admit he is a little overweight but not obese. The vet thinks this could be the cause of the seizures. Can he be treated for this condition? Or will i loose him. Thankyou

It's very hard to tell, he needs to be hospitalized and needs to receive treatment for liver failure, a liver shunt needs to be checked as well, only time will tell if he can be saved or not but this is definitely a very serious condition.
