My dog was neutered. Why isn't his scrotum completely empty yet?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Labradoodle | Female | spayed | 8 months and 27 days old | 50 lbs

Hello, my dog was neutered 12 days ago. He's a 9 month old labradoodle. He's been doing great but I wanted to check about what exactly his scrotum should now look and feel like. One side is completely empty but the other side is not. It does not seem to hurt him and it's not too full/swollen. But I want to check if it should all just feel empty at this point?

Hello. You are just feeling some scar tissue or a little consolidated tissue. This should continue to resolve over time & just a part of the healing process. It sounds like John ids doing very well. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
