I worm and flea Woody regularly (monthly) but the last few days he has been irritated by something on his back near his tail - nothing seems to relieve it. I can’t see any irritation - any ideas what could be causing it?

Woody may be dealing with anal gland issues, parasites such as tapeworms (which are not treated by most broad spectrum dewormers), skin irritation in the area, or other problems such as diarrhea that can cause sensitivity. I recommend you have him evaluated by a veterinarian to help determine the cause and treat it. Here is some more information on anal sacs (although I don't recommend trying to express them yourself, as Woody may be sore. https://veterinarypartner.vin.com/default.aspx?pid=19239&id=4951501
I hope he feels better soon!
