My dog scratched me playing. Red, swollen, gone fast. Should I worry?

If it looks superficial and you cleaned it then it is likely to heal. However, it may not if it is deep or it is infected. However, I can just give you some general information that may help. Dogs cannot transmit any blood borne diseases to humans. As per any wound that any of us may encounter, I would recommend to thoroughly disinfect the wound and if you have any doubt or worry about an infection in your finger, my best advice to recommend you seek medical care. Sounds like you performed first aide to your wounds well, but if your scratch marks do not heal or worsen, then yes please see your MD. Puppies can begin getting their initial vaccines around 8 weeks of age so I would make sure schedule an appointment with his veterinarian for this soon. I hope this helps!

I would not worry about this too much , at least it does not look infected or inflamed. But I am not a doctor for humans, so if you are really worried or if you think this could be a bite from a street dog, this needs to be seen by a doctor for humans.

I would not recommend using any appointments or peroxide is that can cause worsening irritation. It will probably heal up just fine, but if you notice any swelling or discharge I recommend that does it to rule out infection or need for antibiotics.

In general there is always a risk of infection, as we are not human doctors, we can't give you any medical advise, but if you are concerned, make an apointment to see your GP so he can have a look at it and give you some treatment if needed.

Hello. Most dogs will scratch due to allergies or fleas. It would be very, very unlikely that you picked something up just being near the dog, so yes, you are overthinking things. Fleas are very unlikely to jump on people as they very much prefer our pets. So it is possible that you are having a mild skin reaction to the sweater, or you were bitten by a gnat or something like that.
