My dog is scared of strangers. How can I get him to the vet for shots?

A pit bull is a big enough dog to get as many vaccines at once that she needs. You will need to discuss what she needs with your vet. It depends on her lifestyle, where you live, etc. The core vaccinations that all dogs need are DA2PP (distemper, parvo, hepatitis) and rabies. Other vaccines again, are dependent on her lifestyle. If she is not good around other dogs I would just call the vet clinic you are planning to take her to and tell them the situation. I am sure they can arrange to take you guys directly into an exam room so you don't have to wait in the lobby with other dogs. Great question! There are a few things you can do with Booboo. He does need to see a vet, so I would see if there is a mobile vet in your area who can come to your home to see him. You can also see if there is a vet in your area that makes house calls. To help with his anxiety, given that he seems to have a lot of it, you can discuss with the vet about the possibility of giving Booboo anti-anxiety drugs. There are a few OTC things you can try as well. You can get his a DAP collar, which releases pheromones when in contact with his skin that helps with anxiety. You can also get a DAP diffuser to plug in which can be used with the DAP collar as well.

I can understand your concern. You can call around and forewarn them that your pet is aggressive with strangers. That way they will pair you up with the appropriate veterinarian, esepecially if you insist on this. The vet will try to assess your pet as best they can first. Howver, if Rusty is too aggressive the vet will probably recommend a mild sedative. You can even inquire about a pill sedative called Trazodone that you can give your pet 1-2 hrs before the next appt to help calm Rusty down enough for a proper exam. You could ask your vet about trying an oral sedative in addition to the gabapentin and you could also work on training him to use a basket muzzle for safety. You could also look for a hospital that specializes in ‘Fear Free’ handling techniques but I will tell you that these hospitals are usually pretty liberal with their use of injectable sedative because the outcomes are so much better fo the pets.
