My dog was run over, bleeding, limping. Is this an emergency?

Poor Glizzy! I would take Glizzy into a vet immediately. There could be internal injuries from getting hit by a car, and that can only be determine with a physical exam and x-rays. This is a medical emergency, and I would take Glizzy into an ER vet or find a vet on call to see him now.

This dog would be examined using the ABCs (airway, breathing, circulation) and if stable, would have blood testing (CBC, chemistry) and chest x-rays to evaluate for rib fractures, integrity of the diaphragm, and pulmonary contusions (although these can take 24 hours to develop radiographically). In most cases, the dog would also have an IV catheter placed and be started on a "shock dose" of IV fluids.

A dog that has been involve in a car accident needs to be checked professionally by a vet, it would not be responsible or even possible for me to start explaining to you how i would check him because it is complex and based on years of studying and experience. your dog will also most likely need to have an xray done to rule out internal organ damage. i strongly recommend taking him to the vet ASAP.

What do you do? My goodness, you need to get this dog to a vet ASAP. The foot is probably broken and I'm sure it's painful. I bet if this was your foot you would go to the doctor. I would strongly urge you to get Rosco in to be seen immediately by a veterinarian so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. He may have an internal bleed, trauma to his kidneys, airway damage, etc. that could progress and worsen leading to death. If you can get him in right away, I would do so so that he has the best chance possible to pull through.

If he is not walking well and his breathing is abnormal, I highly recommend you consider having him reevaluated by a veterinarian since he has not improved. They may take chest x rays to check on why he is breathing loudly such as a pulmonary contusion for example. I am so sorry to hear that your pet Lupa is in such dire need of medical care it seems. She is very ill and the fact that she isn't moving is very concerning. There isn't anything you can do unfortunately in the home to help her, she needs to be seen by a vet in your area right away. She could have just about anything going on internally to cause this including: severe anemia, heart disease, or even shock just to name a few.
