Good on you for looking after the safety of your baby! The best thing to do is to only let her have the ball when she isn't around the baby. You can put her in a separate room separated by a baby gate to play with it, or give her the ball when the baby is taking a nap. You can also make it an outdoor only toy that she plays with when she is outside. Other times, I would keep it locked away so your baby can't get it, and there's no risk of her trying to go after it if the baby has it or is near it.
