My dog won't eat Blue Buffalo. Is Bill Jac with organs healthy?

Bill Jac is not my favorite. Natural balance limited ingredient diet is a good food which is grain free. But also the commercial diets that have been around for years like science diet, iams, and royal canine are all great foods. These foods do have grains in them but grains are okay for dogs as long as they do not have a grain allergy. Also, these foods have a lot of research to back them up which some of these newer "fancier" foods do not have that same amount of research. I hope this helps.

Iams is perfectly healthy dog food! The ingredients in Blue Buffalo may appear different, but both diets are balanced in their nutrients and can provide an excellent diet for any dog. It sounds like your dog likes the Iams, so I see no reason to switch to something that could upset the balance.

This is a great question, especially because there are so many food options out there for puppies! Several brands of food including Hill's Science Diet, Royal Canin, and Purina One are often preferred. These companies do a lot of research and quality control to ensure their foods meet strict nutritional standards so I would recommend one of these brands for Sixx. I actually really do prefer science diet over Blue. I personally as well as several of my colleagues have seen some negative side effects to the blue buffalo foods. I have seen that it causes an increase in bladder crystals which make dogs more prone to bladder stones. Science diet has been around for years and years and have the appropriate research to back them up. They also have a light diet if you are looking for Lucky to lose some weight. I would make sure you mix the old food with the new food for about 10 days to help prevent an upset stomach. I hope this helps!

Hello and welcome to Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. If Rio doesn't like the Blue Buffalo, you can switch him to a different dog food. Royal Canin, Science Diet and Eukanuba are all good balanced diets. Also, consider neutering Rio at this age and switching him to an adult diet from a puppy diet after the neuter. There have been a lot of issues with Blue Buffalo but most of what you read online is from upset pet owners who’s pets got sick or died and they want to blame a product or food. Sadly they do this with out evidence to back it up. If Patches is doing well it’s up to you if you want to change it. Blue Buffalo isn’t a brand I recommend. I recommend Hill’s, Royal Canin and Purina because they have veterinary nutritionists on staff. Have a good day!

I will be completely honest with you, I do not like Blue Buffalo (BB) at all, and that's a feeling held by many of my colleagues. They don't own their own factories to make the food, so they give the recipe to a factory to make it. This means they have no quality control over their food, and have admitted that publicly. In addition, it causes horrible gas. I personally never recommend feeding a grain free food to dogs unless they have allergies. Grains are beneficial to dogs, and I recommend owners feed a high quality food such as Royal Canin, Hill's Science diet, Purina ProPlan, or Iams. If you really want to feed Luka a grain free food, I recommend Acana or Orijen. Those are very high quality foods as well.
