Why is my dog puking, legs weak, dragging, and making weird sounds?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! There are a few conditions that can affect a dog's ambulation such as a back injury or an injury to the legs per se. Sometimes weakness in the hind limbs can be caused by things like dehydration. Vomiting can be indicative of conditions such as gastroenteritis, gastrointestinal obstruction, pancreatitis, dietary indiscretion, among many other possibilities. I recommend that you have him evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They would be able to check for these possibilities and treat accordingly. Hi. This sounds very sad and painful. He needs to be seen either by an orthopedic specialist or a neurologist. He will need imaging of his spine and some labwork. He will also most likely need to go on medications for pain and inflammation. I recommend getting him seen right away

This sounds like a medical emergency and you should have Puddin seen right away. The potential cause for her signs are a slipped disc in her back causing pinching of her nerves going to her back legs (Intervertebral disc disease), trauma, spinal infection, a spinal tumor or a toxin. The veterinarian will want to perform a through exam and localize the pain. They will also check Puddin's neurologic function which will help to determine if her signs are due to a spinal problem. If her signs worsen and she can no longer walk on her back legs, she may need an MRI or surgery. Please have her seen, good luck.

The pictures look like Potti has some muscle loss of the hind legs. If he cannot walk he really needs to see a vet as soon as possible. Infectious disease, trauma, parasites and neurologic disease can cause the inability to use your legs. I would recommend taking food to him so he can still eat and drink and getting him in for an exam. Hope Potti feels better soon

Pain and lameness in multiple legs can be a sign of polyarthritis (painful swelling in multiple joints) related to autoimmune disease or tick borne diseases like Lyme disease if there are ticks in your area. If he seems weak in his back legs back pain or a prolapsed disc would also be a possibility. I would recommend having your veterinarian examine him. If you think his barking and crying is a sign of pain or if you do think his back legs seem weak it would be best to take him to an emergency vet tonight.

Poor Frank! This vomiting and diarrhea could be caused by a severe GI illness, eating something rotten, or a foreign body. Lethargy would be an accompaniment of being this ill, while his back legs could be sore from having to squat so frequently to have diarrhea. I would try a home remedy first, but if he still has the same symptoms in the morning, I would take him into the vet for an exam. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. If his symptoms worsen in the night, I would take him into an ER vet right away.

It sounds as Lycan is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking him to the vet the first chance you get, he will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection he will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better.
