Can a dog paralyzed for 3 months ever recover and walk again?

Without xrays and records of the physical exam it is impossible to guess what might be causing these symptoms. Paralysis of 3 months in a young pup is unlikely to resolve bit referral to a specialist neurologist and orthopedic surgeon may provide a full diagnosis and highlight any possible treatment options. If he has limited mobility then quality of life should be assessed and it may not be fair to expect him to continue most especially if any incontinence develops

I am sorry to hear about Koba. While compression of the spinal cord is the most common cause of paralysis in dogs there are other possible causes including trauma to the spinal cord and tumors compressing the spinal cord. Unfortunately if your dog has been paralyzed for this length of time improvement even with surgery is very unlikely because the compression of the spinal cord for this length of time likely has caused permanent alteration. Many dogs do well with wheel chairs/carts, though in a dog as large as 100 pounds that is a much more difficult situation and you need to consider his quality of life and discuss with your vet if you have concerns about that quality and whether or not it can be improved or if euthanasia should be considered if the quality is poor.

I'm so sorry that Marcela is not doing well. myelitis is inflammation of the spinal cord. A steroid such as methylprednisolone is an appropriate treatment to try to reduce the inflammation. However, if there is compression of the cord that is causing the inflammation (such as compression for an intervertebral disc or from a tumor, etc) then the steroid alone may not be sufficient. An MRI would definitely diagnose whether or not there is compression of the cord; its very hard to see this on CT and impossible on plain film X-rays. If there is compression of the cord, surgery may be needed. If surgery is not an option (due to finances or other issues), additional therapies such as therapeutic laser and or acupuncture may be of benefit. As for the prognosis for recovery of function, I would say its "gaurded," meaning it could improve but its probably going to take weeks, and is uncertain at that. I hope that is helpful for you. I would take him to a rehabilitation veterinarian who can do acupuncture also. I see many paralyzed animals that recover with neurological retraining exercises, laser, hydrotherapy and acupuncture. The sooner he receives treatment the better the outcome. Even if he doesn’t get 100% better many animals can still live a happy life with proper care from the owners. It really depends on the cause of the muscle weakness. If it was related to illness, then it could gradually start to recover. If the muscle loss is due to another underlying conditioning or age, it may require additional treatment such as pain meds, joint meds etc, or even assistance with walking/doggy wheelchairs. Since it hasn't improved in several weeks, i would schedule a recheck with your veterinarian to see if there are any additional treatments needed.

If he regained ability to walk (did not understand if he had surgery or not), there are good chances that urinary incontinence and tail movement will improve up to a point were he will be self sufficient. Neurologic issues can take time. It is great that she is up and bearing weight on her own, dogs are so amazing. Hopefully she had xrays to look for a spinal/pelvic fracture, collapsed disc space, etc. as these would be important to rule out as well. You will need to give her potentially even months to know what her new normal with be. Hopefully she will at some point be deficit free or only have a mild deficit but it is too soon to tell. Keep working with her. Hopefully your vet has recommended a physical therapy/rehab plan for her. If not, you could request referral to a rehab therapist.
