My dog overate, vomited, and has a swollen stomach. Should I worry?

Withhold food for 12 hours then offer him boiled boneless chicken and rice every 6 hours in small portions. if he is eating and not vomiting, continue with this diet for 2 days. After 2 days, you can put him back gradually on his normal food. If he seems very lethargic or vomiting, take him to the vet to get treatment right away as he might develop GDV (gastric dilatation).

If she is resting quietly, not vomiting, and having no breathing issues then she is probably fine for you to just monitor her now. I strongly suggest you don't feed her anything for 24 hours but make sure she has plenty of water available to drink. If she is having any troubles then she needs to go to the emergency vet. If the belly is swollen but the puppy is not in discomfort, you may monitor her for a few hours to see how she goes. The passing of bowel motions is positive, as is the fact she is willing to drink water. If she begins vomiting, especially empty retching you will need to source emergency care for her but otherwise report to your regular vet in the morning. Sheena should be evaluated by a veterinarian right away! If her belly is swollen she could be suffering from bloat (stomach full of air), a GDV (where the stomach bloats and turns on itself) or she could have fluid in her belly or uterus (pyometra). Hello! This is what we call "food bloat" which happens when dogs manage to eat a massive amount of food! Their stomachs stretch with the huge amount of food, causing the bloated bellies. When people bring these pets to me, we usually recommend putting them on IV fluids until the bloating resolves, and not feeding at all. Their stomachs could potentially rupture, when the kibbles swell, and mix with water. So, at this point, I wouldn't suggest feeding them. Ideally they should be checked by their vet, to see if they are okay recovering at home, or whether they need treatment at the clinic.

IF she is otherwise asymptomatic and seems comfortable, I would just half her food at the next feeding. No ned to do anything further than this. Her stomach should come down after you decrease her food amount. Just make sure to feed her normal portions from here on out.
