Why isn't my 3-year-old dog growing? When do dogs stop growing?

At 13 months of age, Yoda may grow just a bit more, but he is mostly done growing. Some dogs are just smaller in stature than others, regardless of having the same genetic background. It is unusual that Yoda (being a male) is smaller than his sister, but genes can do crazy things. Sixty pounds of muscle is still a pretty big dog! :-)

Grown up size of a doog depends on genetics and nutrition. You can help your dog grow to his full potential by feeding him a good quality complete puppy food for large dogs. Some dogs will stay on the smaller side within the breed sprectrum. This does not take away from them. You do not want to make your dog grow taller faster than nature wants him to grow, as you make him prone to bone problems. Your dog will still grow for about another year to 18 months. Be patient.

Hello. Full physical maturity ( growth ) is completed by 18 months of age. Otis may continue to put on weight & girth until 2 years of age. Neutering does delay final growth a little bit as the growth plates close, so a neutered dog will take up to 6 months longer to finish growing as an intact one. Hope this helps. It depends on Zeus's age. Typically dogs reach the full growth between one year to 18 months of age (large and giant breeds of dogs take longer to reach their full growth). If he's still young, he will have more growing to do. I hope this helps :-)

The question you are asking is a little unclear. I think you are trying to ask what the average adult size of a German Shepherd is at a particular age. An adult female GSD should reach anywhere from 50-85 pounds depending on breeding lines. Complete growth in large breed dogs is not usually reached until at least 18 months of age, though the majority of their growth has stopped by on year. Based on the photo you have provided and the age, Soska looks to be a very appropriate size at this time.

Based on the mix of breeds you said I would suspect that Gracie has done the majority of her growth already. You might see some very small amounts of growth until 18 months of age but for the most part she will hopefully remain that size forever.

He still has plenty of time to grow. He may not be fully grown until after 12 months of age. There is some thought that early neutering can decrease total growth potential. If you are concerned that he is not growing appropriately, I would recommend that you have Bran examined by his veterinarian. The vet will evaluate his diet and do an exam to see if there is something we can change to help him meet his full growth potential. But, just like in humans, there is no magic treatment to make them taller!
