My dog won't eat and keeps vomiting. Is it her teeth or serious?

If you are sure it is her teeth, have her examined by your veterinarian. Periodontal disease can lead to systemic disease, bad breath or tooth loss if left untreated. If she has any degree of periodontal disease, she will require anesthesia for a dental cleaning and any periodontal treatment. Your vet should perform a complete exam and blood work to confirm your dog is a good anesthetic candidate. Periodontal disease typically does not present as you describe so a visit to your vet is highly recommended. The GI upset can be managed by withholding food for 12-24 hours. Allow small amounts of water or PediaLyte. Resume feeding a bland diet (1:1 ratio of plain boiled boneless chicken and plain white rice). Feed in small, frequent amounts waiting at least one hour between feedings. If the vomiting stops, transition slowly to the regular diet. If not, see your veterinarian.

While the dental disease may be related to her not eating well, I do not expect that to be related to the vomiting. Some medications might help. Antibiotics and pain killers (anti-inflammatories) can definitively improve his condition clearing up mouth infection. Symptomatic treatment for vomiting might help as well. I would recommend to have him on a bland diet based on boiled chicken and rice. If Tison is a normal weight then I’m not as concerned about the irregular eating pattern. Many dogs self regulate and only eat what they need and vary the amount based on their activity. If he has an empty stomach he could be vomiting from stomach acid buildup. Usually feeding a treat or small meal if he will eat it can reduce the vomiting. You may also want to try another good quality food to see if that improves his eating. It’s best if dogs eat at least once daily. If he has a poor hair coat, is thin or lethargic then this behavior could be a sign of an underlying medical problem that should be treated. He could have intestinal parasites, a food allergy or GI condition. In that case I recommend a veterinary exam and lab tests to determine the problem and get the appropriate treatment. Poor girl. It is not normal for a pet to have continuous vomiting and lack of appetite post dental extractions. If she was sent home with an NSAID to take that helps with pain and inflammation, then that could be the underlying cause of her symptoms. This would be considered an adverse reaction to the medication. If she seems like she can't control her vomiting and is very unstable, then yes an ER visit may be best for her. At the very least she needs to be seen within the next 12 hrs if possible, to get her treatment to stop the vomiting and help settle her stomach. It is definitely suspicious that something is hurting her mouth and causing her to not want to eat, but this would not normally cause her to vomit. The bile staining in the vomit doesn't tell much other than she is vomiting on an empty stomach. This is not specific to any one disease, but indicates that something is either directly upsetting her stomach, or generally making her feel nauseous. It would be best to first have a good look on her mouth using a flash light to see if there are any obvious injuries or something stuck in her mouth. I recommend having someone help you with this.
