My 6-year-old dog hasn't eaten or drank in 4 days. What's wrong?

It sounds as Julie is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking her to the vet the first chance you get, she will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection she will need an anti nausea injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better. if the vet thinks it is more serious she will need a blood test and possibly an ultrasound in order to find out what is wrong.

If your dog has not eaten or drank anything in a few days, she needs to be seen by a veterinarian immediately. Dogs can go a few days without food but they have to have water or risk severe dehydration. The gas could be caused by whatever has caused her to lose her appetite. She could have eaten something bad for her, swallowed part of a toy or other foreign object and have a blockage, or have an infection or a growth that is interfering with her digestion. She needs an exam, blood work and possibly x-rays to determine the cause of her illness. She may also need to be hospitalized to receive IV fluids and more intensive treatment.

There could be a number of reasons why Princess isn't eating, drinking, shaking, and not having regular bowel movements. I see that she isn't spayed, and the first thing that comes to my mind is a pyometra. This is an infection of the uterus that is fatal without treatment. It could also be she got into something rotten or toxic, or could have a foreign body. Her symptoms are very serious, and it's concerning this has been ongoing for three days. I would consider this a medical emergency, especially with the risk of her having a pyometra. She needs veterinary care now.
