Why is my dog's neck squishy and sagging after an FNA procedure?

The FNA was reported as "suggestive" not diagnostic - this would indicate some evidence of cell changes such as rapid/disorganised growth or poorly defined cells due to severe inflammation but not definitively cancerous. This is not uncommon as an FNA only looks at a small amount of loose cells and can often give inconclusive results. The rapid reduction in signs is positive that it may have been a benign, inflammatory process but unfortunately many tumours are also inflamed by their nature and do sometimes respond temporarily to medication! I would continue to monitor closely for any relapse as a precaution

I am sorry to hear about Fudge! What a cutie! It is difficult to see in the photo the exact location of this swelling, but I would be concerned about things like a cyst filling quickly, an abscess (pocket of infection), an infected tooth root, a hematoma (blood filled swelling), and a sialocele which is a ruptured salivary duct causing saliva to pool beneath the skin. I would recommend making an appointment for your vet to examine Fudge. If at any point she develops difficulty breathing or swallowing then a trip to the emergency vet would be recommended.

This is often differentiated by an exam and a test called a fine needle aspirate (FNA) which is a pain free, inexpensive and easy procedure which in most cases will help reach a diagnosis. Many injections can cause temporary lumps which are generally painless and resolve over 4-6weeks. If there is any discomfort or heat in the area or it does not reduce over time you should have it checked by your vet to rule out more sinister causes

Fine needle aspirates are just a screening tool. You are placing a very small gauge needle into a large lump of tissue so it is always possible that you are missing some cells that would be diagnostic. It is also possible to go through the mass and get cells that just surround it. An FNA can be helpful in screening but if it is not diagnostic, the next step is an actual biopsy or full removal of the mass with histopathology. I have seen you ask this question multiple times and I'm sorry but we are not going to be able to answer it without seeing the report. It sounds to me like he had reactive lymph nodes (lymphoid hyperplasia) and I would not be overly worried about it at this stage if he is doing better. If the lymph nodes swell up again then you should have one or both removed and the entire lymph node sent to the lab for a histopathology. That is the only way you are going to get an answer. Thank you for submitting your question regarding Buddy. It sound like he recieved subcutaneous fluids. These are fluids given under the skin to help rehydrate a dog. Gravity can pull the fluids to different areas. They can shift after he has been laying down or sleeping as well. They should absorb naturally over the next 24 hours. If Buddy is acting normal, then you shouldn't have to worry. I hope this information helps!

It's a little difficult to tell what exactly is swollen in your picture, but it's possible that Frankie has an enlarged salivary gland or lymph node, or something like an abscess. All of these things can occur suddenly. I would recommend having your vet take a look - they might be able to get a better idea from being able to see and feel the swelling in person. They might recommend taking a sample using a small needle (fine needle aspirate) if it seems like a lymph node or salivary gland is swollen.
