My dog is having a morphine reaction. How long do symptoms last?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Airedale Terrier | 9 years and 10 months old

I think the problems my 11 y/old Airedale has are caused by a reaction to morphine! If so how long until the symptoms subside?

Morphine has a fairly short half-life in dogs, with effects usually lasting around 3-4 hours. So if the morphine is causing the signs you are seeing, I would expect to see improvement within a few hours of the last dose you gave.
