Hello. Yes, typically melatonin is safe, dosage depends on what your are trying to use it for.

I would consult with your vet about whether it's the right choice for Lilo and they can help you with a dose.

    Melatonin is used off-label in dogs, most commonly for skin issues such as seasonal flank alopecia. Make sure you're getting the go-ahead from your vet first to ensure you're using it for an appropriate condition and at the correct dose. Hope this helps.
