Why is my Maltipoo drooling, wandering, and can't sit still?

Hi there and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to address your concern. If she is drooling a lot, this could indicate a dental problem. In many cases of dental disease, you will see an increase in drooling / salivation. The itchiness could be a separate condition and due to allergies, skin mites, fleas, etc. I would recommend having her scheduled for a general checkup with a veterinarian so that the mouth can be evaluated further and suggestions made for the itchiness. In the meantime, I would recommend a flea product such as Bravecto, Nexgard or Frontline and try this to see if it helps. It sounds as Papito is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking him to the vet the first chance you get, he will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection he will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better.

Poor Mookie sounds like he is feeling poorly! He could have a GI illness, may have eaten something rotten, or could have a foreign body among other things causing his vomiting. Normally I'd recommend a bland diet if a dog is at least drinking water, but because he isn't drinking, he really should see a vet today. The vomiting combined with refusing to drink could easily lead to dehydration, and that should be avoided. I would take Mookie into a vet today to diagnose why he's vomiting so he can be treated as needed. I hope this helps!

Drooling can be a sign of nausea and this with a decreased activity level can be observed with many conditions such as gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, kidney disease, pancreatitis, among many other possibilities. I recommend that you have Rufus evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They would be able to check for these possibilities and others depending on the findings on exam. I would definitely bring in a sample of Moose's poop to be evaluated for intestinal parasites. This is one of the most common causes of diarrhea in young dogs. He may be getting worn out on your walks or just be uncomfortable in his intestines because of the diarrhea. I would also ask your vet to palpate his stomach and spine to rule out any underlying causes of pain and possibly do a rectal exam as well to make sure everything back there is as it should be.

The clinical signs you describe are concerning when they occur in a puppy as they can be seen with serious gastrointestinal infections such as Parvovirus. However, the waxing and waning aspect is unusual for something like parvovirus making it less likely. Other possibilities include intestinal worms and dietary indiscretion, among other possibilities. The sooner these conditions are treated the better the outcome tends to be. You can start by changing his diet to see if it is possible that he has a sensitivity to his current diet perhaps. If no improvement, I recommend that you have Bruce evaluated by your veterinarian to check for these possibilities and to start therapy based on findings.
