Make sure she has vaccines including DHPPi (distemper, hepatitis, parvo, parainfluenza) and rabies. Depending on her age, the vet the can tell you her vaccination schedule. Spay her before she goes into her first heat (around six months of age) to significant reduce the risk of her developing mammary tumors and eliminate the chance of her developing a pyometra later in life. Put her on a good flea and tick prevention program, make sure to deworm her, and give her heartworm protection. I would have your pup seen by a vet this week to start all of these things to keep her healthy :-)

Yearly vet checks, keeping up with vaccines, take Dakota into the vet whenever he isn't feeling well, keeping up with deworming and flea treatments, administering heart worm medication, and feed a good quality dog food. Also keeping the weight healthy, and regular exercise.

As long as you feed Hadli the best quality food you can, keep her up to date on her vaccinations, keep her on heartworm preventative there is not much else for you to do but supply plenty of love. Where people get into trouble is when they try to over-supplement a pet & thus introduce imbalances. Do not let your pet become obese, give her plenty of exercise, & follow your veterinarians recommendations for any testing that might be appropriate as she ages. It's very important to make sure that Bruno has yearly health checks with the vet, that he is kept up to date on his vaccines, and he is regularly treated with flea medication, heartworm prevention, and deworming treatments. He should also be exercised for at least 45 minutes twice a day, and be fed a high quality dog food. I would not recommend giving him human food, as too much of it leads to obesity and certain human foods are toxic to dogs. Finally, give him lots of love and attention, and take him to the vet if there are any health concerns.

I would recommend to have her spayed once she is 6 months of age or older. Spayed females will not get as many health problems as unswayed females. Keep her current on vaccines and out of danger. Indoor cats are generally healthier than outdoor cats. Lastly, dental cleaning by the veterinarian has significant health benefits. While there are no anti-cancer foods, medications, or supplements, we recommend keeping pets at an ideal weight and body condition score (BCS), regularly exercising them, and feeding them a consistent diet. Avoiding human foods or very fatty foods can help reduce the risk of developing diseases such as liver disease or pancreatitis. Do not smoke cigarettes around your pet. That being said, cancer in dogs is unpredictable, and can occur even if you do your very best to keep Oscar as healthy as possible. I recommend at least annual check-ups at the veterinarian, and having him evaluated any time you feel that he is not acting himself! Sometimes subtle clinical signs such as hiding, skipping a couple meals, etc, can be signs of underlying disease. I hope this is helpful!

He will need flea treatment, heartworm treatment, and deworming also on a regular basis. GSDs are very active dogs, and they will need at least 45 minutes of vigorous exercise twice a day. He should receive a high quality dog food, such as Royal Canin or Hills, and do not give him any human food, as many are toxic to dogs. The only food he will need be healthy is his dog food, and the only liquid he needs is water.
