Found a growth on my dog's lip after grooming. Is it serious?

Hello. I would not be too worried, I just would like to have this checked out as soon as possible. Oral lesions have a way of sneaking up on you, so I am glad you were so diligent in finding this. It is quite easy to determine if this is a bad situation by removing a small piece of tissue & having a pathologist examine the cells under a microscope. Some oral lesions can look quite benign but can turn out to be very worrisome, but lets not jump the gun. You are doing the right thing not waiting months to have it looked at. This is quite a strange looking growth. I feel it is likely a papilloma which has become devitilised and died off hence the pale colour. However it is impossible to know the origin of a mass just by visual inspection alone. To be safe I would have this lump removed and submitted for testing at the lab to know exactly what it is.

This looks to be a histiocytoma. I don't think he needs a vet visit just yet. Often these will go away on their own. I would only be worried if it doesn't go away in a month or so OR if it grows larger OR if it starts to bother him. This could be a skin growth. this growth needs to be checked and analysed as there are many conditions and types of tumors that could look like that. take Bentley to the vet, they will perform a fine needle aspiration on the growth and send it to the lab for analysis. when the result comes, the vet will advise what needs to be done according to the diagnosis.

Hello. You might want to have your vet take a look at this to make sure it is not a papilloma virus wart. This can be contagious to other young dogs, especially if Figgy goes to doggy day care or to the dog park. It may not need to be removed, more than likely it will regress on its own.
