My dog is limping, shivering, and screaming. Is it arthritis?

Poor Luna! Because she is 8 or 9, my first thought is that she may be suffering from arthritis. That would cause her pain, and from your description, it sounds like she is painful. It could also be that she injured herself. Arthritis is common in older dogs. I would take her into the vet for an exam. Yes, it could be arthritis. Sometimes though cold can affect a formally broken bone. It's weird, but I broke my humerus about 12 years ago and sometimes when it's really cold, the arm hurts. That could be happening to Sophee. Until you get her into a vet, keep her as warm as possible. Take her out briefly to potty, and bring her right back in when she's done. Please do not give her any human pain medication, many are toxic to dogs and can be fatal if given.

I am worried that he may have arthritis or another joint condition that is contributing to his pain. The skin can be assessed at the same appointment.
