My dog is limping and moving slowly. What's the best way to help her?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Female | unspayed

My female pit bull the last 3 days has been moving slower. I noticed today she started limping on her front left leg. Please help. Thanks, Loyd

Hi Loyd. Limping means Sheba is in pain, and I suspect she was moving slower earlier because she was also in pain. I'd have her seen by a vet today to get pain medication. Please do not give her any human pain medication, as many are toxic to dogs and can be fatal if given.
