My dog constantly licks his back right paw. Specifically his second claw from the inside. When taken to the vet, the vet says the dog looks normal. This issue is especially bad at night when we are trying to sleep, it keeps him and us awake. I truly believe he has an issue with his nail what can I do to relieve his pain while I look for another vet?

I would recommend an Elizabethan collar so Dexter doesn’t lick at his paw. I would also recommend resting him and bringing him to a veterinarian. He most likely will need pain meds and antibiotics. There is not truly safe pain medication over the counter for dogs. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
