Why is my dog Sam constantly itching and losing fur? Is it ringworm?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 1 year and 1 month old

Sam got some itching problem. Got him tested. Skin scalping. Attaching the report. Kindly let me know what's the problem.

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! This appears to be ringworm. There are many different treatment for this and it really comes down to what is preferred by your veterinarian. I prefer combining oral and topical therapy. The most important thing you should know is that this can be transmitted to humans so limit the contact you have with Sam until this gets treated. Have him evaluated by your veterinarian so that he can be started on therapy. Good luck!

    Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! The report attached indicates that Sam has Trichophyton, which is a fungal infection that can be contagious to people. Your vet can prescribe an antifungal cream or pills depending on the severity of the infection. I hope this helps and am happy to answer any other questions you have!
